As an adult, I realised that I learnt completely different to others. Traditional black and white text just didn't trigger my brain at all and making retention of information difficult for me. It really effected me at school, particularly during exams.
In my early 20's I had an epiphany, I suddenly became equipped to re-learn things in a way that I knew would work for me by re-creating my notes in colour and using visuals instead of text where possible. As a result, discovering I had a photographic memory... Crazy!!!
I use these tools at home, at work or whenever I do study or training in the workplace. Here are the simple things that motivate me everyday.
Colour - is an emotional trigger for me.
Lists - once I create a list, it's like I have a purpose and hold myself accountable.
Vision Boards - I make these for everything, personal goals, holidays, decorating, project planning (you must try this).
Images - again, images in colour are an emotional trigger, I have them everywhere.
Sound - love music, love online tutorials, particularly when I cant fix the dishwasher :)
Organisation - is a must to have an organised approach to everything!!!
